Jury Service is Incredibly ImportantIf you receive a jury service notice, please show up. Our jury system separates our system of justice from most others in the world. If we fail to protect it -- which includes you and other prospective jurors showing up when you receive a jury service notice -- those who fear a jury of their peers will continue to whittle away at it with arguments for special courts without juries, for arbitration systems without juries, and other systems which limit your rights.I have yet to have a juror on one of my cases say after the trial that she or he regretted their service, and to a person, they were glad they had the opportunity to serve.
